Route66
Location: Royal City Avenue (RCA)
Located at the Royal City Avenue (RCA), Route66 is resembling - with its expandable open air area - on a busy weekend a typical Ibiza open air discoteque. Having 3 dancefloors and an open air area, this club is an amazing clubbing venue for party lovers.
With cheering crowds and top atmoshpere, Route66 is traditionally one of Bangkok's most popular clubs.
While on weekdays, only the main dancefloor in the inside area is crowded, the number of guests is maximum on weekends, with all 3 areas packed. Some people even prefer weekdays, as it might get too crowded to dance and move on weekends.
The inside area consist of a main dancefloor where people usually dance mainstream EDM, pop and hiphop, as well as an alternative dancefloor with EDM/techno and a Thai music floor (often with live music). Usual clientele consists of 50% Thai and 50% foreigners, whereas the Thai guests mostly belong to the middle and upper class and the foreigners are mainly represented by Chinese and western people. Especially the number of Chinese visitors has risen steadily recently.
Freelancers (hookers) are basically non-existant; one can count them with one hand. Moreover, only a few ladyboys are permitted to enter this club. Prices are moderate with a cocktail for 200-240 THB and a beer starting at 160 THB. The entry fee is 300 THB, which includes a voucher for drinks worth 200 THB. For Thai people the entry is free, but they don't get a voucher either. If you ordered a bottle and couldn't finish it, the club can keep it for you for up to 60 days.
It is recommended to come before 11PM in order to get a table. Also, due to the regulations, Route66 has to close its doors at 2AM.

Levels Club
Location: Sukhumvit (Nana)
A while ago, Levels Club celebrated its anniversary by throwing a fabolous party on a Thursday night. Although it was not a weekend, the club was completely packed such that some people had difficulties even to move.
The great atmosphere on that night is representative to what this club has been since its first opening: One of the most popular clubs in town.
Located at Sukhumvit Soi 11, in Bangkok's infamous entertainment district Nana, Levels Club is throughout the whole week a well visited venue among Thais and especially western tourists and expats. There is one main dancefloor with balconies on its upper level facing the stage, and a minor dancefloor at the rear part of the club that is rarely used. Also, for guests that prefer more privacy, there are several VIP booths in the main floor. A huge terrace outside offers guests an opportunity to chillout on a sofa, watch Soi 11 from above, smoke and have a deeper conversation, as the music there is not as loud as inside.
With space for approximately 300 people, this club offers its guests a great location to party to mainstream pop, EDM and Hip Hop. Often a live music band performs for 1-2 hours. With its fancy interior, distinct reddish & pinkish neon deco lights and huge chandelier, the ambiance resembles one of the 80's Miami Vice clubs.
Levels Club is located at the 4th floor and can be accessed only by an elevator. Usual guests are 80% foreigners for men, and 80% Thai for the ladies. Also it is worth to mention that around 50% of the ladies are "professionals".
There is no entrance fee however, that comes at a cost of higher prices for drinks: Even a local beer (Singha) or a Coke with Whiskey costs about 250 THB each. In case you can't finish a bottle, the club can keep it for you for up to 15 days.

The Club at Koi
Location: Sathorn
The Club at Koi, also known under its former names CÉ LA VI or Ku De Ta, is as its exquisite name suggests, a high class, fancy club/lounge in the heart of Bangkok's central business district Sathorn/Silom. Due to its unique view (39th floor) over Bangkok's skyline and its extravagant interior it is the shiny pearl among Bangkok's nightclubs.
It is crowded on any day of the week, reaching its peak is on Wednesdays as ladies can get free sparkling wine till midnight on that day. Usually this results in most ladies getting tipsy before it's even midnight. Men who are looking for a hookup have higher chances on Wednesdays.
The clientele in this club is a mix of wealthy young expats and hiso and middle class Thais. You will notice this only by looking at the tables: Grey Goose bottles everywhere. Also, it is possible to encounter several high-class freelancers, looking for a customer willing to pay 5000THB up for the night. As it is typical for Bangkok, the predominant mucic played here is Hip Hop and EDM.
This venue has a large, long-stretched dancefloor and a terrace outside to smoke, relax and enjoy the gorgeous view over downtown Bangkok. On a busy night it might become unpleasant to dance or even move near the DJ, for a large crowd usually gathers at this section of the club. However, this doesn't spoil the great atmosphere, as the crowd cheers and dances to the beats.
There is no entry fee, but the prices for drinks are relatively high. For instance, a local beer costs 220 THB including service charge and VAT. A Jack Daniels Whiskey bottle costs more than 4000 THB and it is worth to mention that additional mixers (Coke, Redbull etc.) are pricy and add up to a large bill at the end of the night. You can keep an already opened bottle for maximum 30 days here. Nevertheless, this club is definitely worth a visit.

Mixx Discotheque
Location: Sukhumvit (Chitlom)
For those who are annoyed by the fact that most Bangkok bars and clubs turn off the music at around 2 AM, Mixx Discotheque is the perfect place to continue the party. Located at the basement of the Intercontinental Hotel in Bangkok business district Chitlom, this venue is an after hour club that is opened till 5 AM in the morning.
Throughout the week this club is well visited. However, the busiest days are Thursday till Saturday. Usually there is not much going on until 1:30-2AM, when suddenly more and more guests pour in and a large crowd fills the dancefloor. This is because most people party elsewhere before going to Mixx. Another reason is the fact that a taxi ride to this club is free - Mixx Discotheque pays taxi drivers for each guest they bring. Thus, most taxis suggest their passengers to go to this venue, when other clubs are about to close.
There are 2 dancefloors: On the main floor, the audience is dancing to mainstream EDM, Hip Hop and Pop music, while electric music/techno is the predominant style of music on the other dancefloor. Typical guests are foreign men (60% western, 40% Asian, Arab, Indian etc.), whereas the ladies are rather Thai (65%) or Russian (20%). Interestingly, there seems to be an invisible barrier, that keeps the Russian ladies off the main dancefloor.
Around 75% of the ladies are freelancers. However, a hookup with a regular girl is not unusual here. For those who want to minimize the risk to go home alone, there is a large variety of beautiful professional girls to choose from.
Fancy chandeliers, red carpets and curtains lend the interior an elegant royal touch. The music, beautiful interior and an energic crowd create a great ambiance that is typical for Mixx Discotheque after 2AM. As for the dresscode, pants and shoes are obligatory. Also, it is possible for guest to borrow pants at the entrance if they show up with shorts.
The entrance fee is between is 150 THB or 350 THB (this includes one free drink), depending on the day. With a local beer for 180 THB and cocktails for 300 THB the price range are above moderate. Don't worry if you have a leftover in your bottle - Mixx Club will keep your bottle in their storage for 30 days.

Sugar Club
Location: Sukhumvit (Nana)
More and more people complain about the fact that mainstream EDM and pop are the dominating music styles in Bangkok's nightclubs. Well, to those who only look for good old Hip Hop beats and RnB, Sugar Club is the place to go. This venue is located in Bangkok's entertainment district Nana, at Sukhumvit Soi 11 to be precise. Unlike Levels Club, which is only 150m further down the street, the party starts late and keeps going all night till 5 AM (Levels closes its doors at 3AM). However, it's considered as an afterhour club, as most guests pour in after 1AM. Especally on a weekend it's well visited.
The usual audience consists of mostly foreigner men (Western, Arab and Indian), and Hip Hop loving Thai (and some Western) girls. Typical for Nana District, more than half of the girls here are freelancers who seek to find a customer for the night.
Sugar Club extends over 2 floors, with the 2nd floor overlooing the dancefloor below. Often, sexy girls in hip hop style dance on the mini stage to animate the crowd and ensure a good atmoshere.
The entrance is about 300 THB for men and 250 for ladies, which includes a free drink for each. Prices are moderate starting with 180 THB for a local beer.
Since this venue is located on the upper floors of the building, guests use the stairs or an elevator to get there. Thus, it is hard to get an idea about how crowded it is inside, when standing at the entrance and trying to sneak a peek. You never know, even when there no guests at the entrance waiting to get in, the club might be already packed. There is no specific dresscode. However, men should not wear flip flops, tank tops or shorts.

Insanity Club
Location: Nana)
Insanity Club has been an important part of Bangkok's nightlife for several years already. However, there are different opinions about this club.
One is that Insanity Club corresponds with the widely spread cliché of Bangkok being a sleazy place full of sex tourists and prostitutes. Another view is that this nightclub has become increasingly popular among young people who just want to party hard to electric beats, dubstep and techno at a very central location in the city.
The truth lies somewhere in the middle: It is true, there are many hookers and sleazy sex tourists, but also regular girls and fellas (often in a group) who just came for fun without ulterior motives.
Relocated to Sukhumvit Soi 11 at Nana , Insanity Club is situated quite central and is easy to find (5 min walk from Nana Bts station).
Having enough space to host 300 to 400 guests, Insanity Club has one large dancefloor with a dancing stage in the middle and all tables and bars placed around it in a circular arrangement.
Unlike many other Bangkok clubs this venue closes its doors after 4 AM. This is why most of the guests arrive after 1 AM. It is worth noting that it's definitely not a glamorous, fancy place. It's actually a typical tourist disco where you'll encounter well dressed people in a suit, aswell as guys in casual dress. It's allowed to smoke in there.
Most men are tourists and expats while for the ladies it's the opposite. About 80% are freelancers and you will hardly ever see a ladyboy (probably they are not allowed to enter). Recently more and more Chinese girls and men (often in a group) can be seen partying here. Often you can find them at the VIP booths.
The entrance fee is 400 THB (this includes one free drink). With a local beer for 240 THB and cocktails for 300 THB the price range is rather high.

Scratch Dogs
Location: Sukhumvit (Asok/Phrom Phong)
You are Korean, Japanese, Singaporean or from Hong Kong and you are looking for a great party in Bangkok with people of your kind? Then Scratch Dogs is the place to be!

This club is very popular among young men from these aforementioned countries, and girls - Thais and Asian expats/tourists - come here for this very reason. Of course, the reality might also be the other way around.

Scrath Dog gets packed on 7 days a week and guests often drink until one drops. Accordingly, the atmosphere is top. Interestingly, on a usual night you can count western people and other foreigners on one hand. Moreover, while the girls fall around the Asian guys' necks, it seems like they are not interested in Western guys.
Located at the basement of the Windsor Hotel at Sukhumvit Soi 20, this venue has one large area (capacity: 200 - 350 people), where EDM, Eletric beats, Dubsteb, House and Techno is played. Since there is no real dancefloor, guests have their own table (it's better to come in a group) and, there is no other place to stand around without getting in the way of somebody. This setup is typical for Thai style of parties.
Smoking is permitted and moreover, shishas can be ordered.
The entrance fee is 400 THB which gets you 2 free drinks. With a local beer for 180 THB and cocktails for 250 THB the price range is still moderate. The dresscode is not strict, however shorts, flip flops and tank tops are not permitted.

Glow Nightclub
Location: Sukhumvit (Asok)
While driving up Sukhumvit Soi 23, where the infamous Soi Cowboy ends, lots of international restaurants and massage shops with pretty girls attract a visitor‘s particular attention. Being just a 5 minutes walk from Terminal 21 shopping mall, this area is home to Japanese and western expats.
If you can resist the temptation and manage to get past the obstable course of massage girls trying to pull you inside their shops, you might come upon Glow Nightclub.
Although not well known among tourists, Glow has been one of Bangkok’s top clubs over the years since it opened its doors in 2005.
It’s a real insider tip for those seeking non-mainstream electric beats, techno, underground and house. Obviously, the club stands out from others by putting emphasis on quality music. People are well aware of this and it’s one of the main reasons to visit Glow nightclub.
This club hosts mainly expats as well as middle class locals, while freelancers avoid this venue. Thus, it often gets packed on weekends, while weekdays are less busy.
There are 2 floors - enough space for up to 250 people. The interior is dimmly illuminated with green and reddish glowing neon lights. The entrance fee is 300 THB which gets you a free drink of your choice and the overall prices fall within a moderate category range.

Sing Sing Theater
Location: Sukhumvit (Phrom Phong)
Sing Sing Theater is a relatively new club/lounge (opened 2015) that is getting increasingly popular among expats and upper class Thais. Due to ist proximity to Phrom Phong and Thonlor area, it‘s easy to reach and find.
The interior has one of the most creative designs in town, and resembles a wooden far eastern temple. Its dim-lit ambiente with reddish neon lights and warm colors makes you feel comfortable. Despite having 2 levels, it’s quite compact with just enough space for about 200 guests.
The second floor is basically a balcony overlooking the dancefloor. Several comfortable chillout booths at each corner give guests the opportunity to enjoy the night in a more secluded and relaxing way.
As aforementioned, common guests are upper class Thais and young western expats. Freelancers avoid this venue. The music here covers non-mainstream underground, electric music and house. Only Thursdays is Hip Hop night. Indeed, Sing Sing Theatre is not one of those places where the crowd goes crazy and people sing along with the songs. Rather, emphasis here is put on elegance and class: There are no beer towers or shishas. People like to socialize, drink champagne, whiskey, cocktails and dance smoothly to the music.
There is no entrance fee, however drinks fall within a higher price category. A Coke with Whiskey costs about 310 THB including VAT. If you ordered a bottle but couldn't finish it, don't worry as the club can keep it for you for up to 30 days. The opening times are between 10 PM and 2 AM and it is recommended to come well dressed. Of course, shorts, tank tops and flipflops are taboo.

The Club
Location: Khaosan Road
Khaosan District, in particular Khaosan Road with its colorful ambience, is like a big carnival where backpackers, locals, expats, students and hippies come together and enjoy Bangkok’s warm nights in easy atmosphere. In the midst of it all is “The Club”.
This club represents all what Khaosan Road lifestyle stands for: Partying in a casual atmosphere. Here, nobody cares for status, your outfit or how rich you are. Most guests are tourists. While years ago, only foreigners came to this venue, more and more young Thais have discovered this backpacker style of partying.
The DJ heats up the crowd with EDM, Techno and house music. The interior decor is predominantly covered in a bluish tone. There is one dancefloor which is spacious – large enough to host a couple hundred people. It’s packed throughout the week; Khaosan people don’t distinguish between weekends and weekdays.
Depending on the day either the entrance fee is 200 THB that gets you a free drink or, it’s free. It’s one of the few clubs in Bangkok with lax dress code. Basically, people can party in shorts and tank tops. Prices for drinks are on an average level for Bangkok, with a local beer for 180 THB.

Onyx Club
Location: Royal City Avenue (RCA)
Onyx is a classy nightclub with a typical Thai concept of partying: There is no real common dancefloor. Thus, guests mostly come in groups and have their own tables as their “base” where they dance and drink for whole night.
Although Onyx is one of the most popular nightclubs among Bangkok‘s younger middle and upper class, foreigners are a small minority. Furthermore, most of the foreigners present have joined their group of Thai friends. In general, there are no prostitutes or ladyboys.
Having a capacity of 1000-2000 people, divided in two large indoor areas and an outside area (mostly for smoking or socializing), it’s Bangkok’s biggest club. Especially on weekends it that gets quite packed. The interior decoration has a stylishly modern and elegant touch. Confetti, laser-shows and CO2-cannons along with the DJs create a great atmosphere. People drink a lot and at some point of the night, the crowd goes wild.
It is recommended to come in a group, find a table and share a bottle (cheaper than individual drinks). The music at Onyx covers EDM, techno, and House. Shorts, tank tops and flip flops are not allowed. Most people, especially are well dressed, thus it is recommended to choose the outfit wisely. The entrance fee is 300 THB and a beer starts at 180 THB. You can order a bottle and can store it in this club's storage for up to 60 days.
Unfortunately, just like Route66, which is next door, the lights go out after 2AM.

Brick Bar
Location: Khaosan Road
Although it seems like Khaosan Road is occupied by an western tourist invasion, there are still spots where foreigners are outnumbered by the locals. Brick Bar is one of them. Located at the end of Khaosan Road, inside the Buddy Lodge, Brick Bar has been a very popular venue among Thai students.
Thais usually go partying in a large group and take tables. So it’s wise to show up early in order to get a table.
Prostitutes are not present in this club. Usually live bands perform and sing Thai Indie, Pop and Reggae. Nevertheless, a few foreigners are also present on every night. Most guests are Thai students and the average age is 24. Interestingly, many girls here look like a typical Thai-Chinese with bright skin color, which is considered as beautiful for Thai people.
Ever wondered why around 2 AM, so many young, totally drunk people pour out (some of them even carried out) of a brick building on Khaosan road? Well, this scene must be in front of Brick Bar just after the music is turned off. This gives you an idea of what this club is about. People here tend to drink beyond their limits and sing along the bands like in a chorus, creating a joyful and energic atmosphere.
Brick Bar is small; just large enough to host about 200 people. There is only one main floor and an inner balcony overlooking the stage.
It gets packed on weekends, such that moving in the club might become a hassle. It's best to have your own table and remain there if you don't want to be jostled within the crowd.
The entrance fee is 200 THB and you get a voucher for one free drink. Prices for drinks are cheaper compared to other clubs.

DND (Do Not Disturb)
Location: Thonglor
Located in Ekkamai/Thonglor area, DND Club is one of the new shiny stars in Bangkok’s clubbing scene. With its modern chic boutique design and heated crowd (it gets usually packed), this club mainly attracts young Thais from the middle and upper class.
It’s a typical Thai club with no real dancefloor; the main focus is on tables. People usually come in groups, such that showing up alone, just with the intention to dance may come across as a little awkward and would make this person feel lost between the tables. It’s recommended to come early or make a reservation to secure a table. Freelancers are not present.
With regard to the music , the focus here is on EDM, Pop and Techno beats.
DND club has one area with a capacity of about 300 people. Usually there is no entrance fee, but with more than 220 THB for a beer, drinks cost more than Bangkok’s average prices.
The clientele usually arrives well dressed, and you should abandon the idea to show up in shorts or flip flops.

DEMO Club
Location: Thonglor
With its brick walls, ventilation pipes and urban art, DEMO club resembles an industrial warehouse that has seen better days. However, located in Bangkok’s trendy Thonglor area, it’s one of the most popular clubs among young wealthy urban Thais and expats.
DEMO combines industrial art with hip and warmly lit décor. Despite its high ceiling and narrow-stretched interior, there is top atmosphere and it usually gets packed. Music-wise, the main focus here is on EDM, House and Techno. Unlike common Thai nightclubs, there are no live bands - which is a good thing - as they are often considered to be a nuisance in a dance club anyway.
Foreign guys who seek to pick up a girl should be aware that they don’t have an easy game here as compared to other venues. The clientele is upper class and thus, many ladies don’t want to be labeled as a stereotype bargirl with her ‘farang’ customer and therefore often shy away. Foreigners are present, but they are outnumbered by the locals.
Cocktail prices start at 220 THB, while a beer is available for 180 THB. Shorts, thank tops etc. are not allowed.

Narz Club
Location: Sukhumvit (Asok)
Also known as Narcissus, Narz Club has been an important venue in Bangkok’s clubbing scene since 1992. It’s a huge, chic club 2 dancing zones, located at Sukhumvit Soi 23. It’s not recommended to show up before 11 PM, as most people arrive at later hour. Unlike many other clubs in Bangkok, it’s open till 4 AM. Thus, people don’t rush to come early. The crowd is mixed between middle class locals and expats/tourists, with foreigners being outnumbered. Freelancers mostly avoid this place. Also a few ladyboys can be spotted here throughout the night.
While the DJs play Trance, House, Dubstep and Electric beats on the main floor, the crowd can dance to hip hop and pop at the other floor. As there are plenty tables and enough space, Narz Club is good recommendation if you want to party in a group and want to experience an energic atmosphere. However, in recent years, its popularity has faded and it gets less crowded than it used to be.
The cover charge is 400 THB which includes 2 free drinks. Beers are available for 200 THB. There is no specific dress code. Men should wear pants and avoid tank tops and flip flops.

Shock39
Location: Petchaburi Road
While many clubs in Bangkok have to shut the music down at 2 AM, or keep closed entirely during curfews or religious holidays, for some reason, the party keeps going on as usual (until 4 AM) at Shock39. This nightclub may be the last option on a particular night, when no other club is open (the main reason why this venue is listed here).
Located at Petchaburi Road, this club is a 1-2 km taxi drive apart from the central and shiny Sukhumvit area. Usually, taxis go for free since they get commission for each guest they bring to the club. At first glance, the location might seem a little shady; however, it’s a safe area.
